Lars Mikkelsen

Lars MikkelsenAt 27 years old, he entered the National Theatre School of Denmark. He graduated in 1994. In addition to his part in the drama series that was released worldwide as The Killing, he subsequently played in two other critically highly acclaimed Danish drama series, Those Who Kill and Borgen III.He also played a lead role in an episode of the BBC drama Sherlock as blackmailer Charles Augustus Magnussen. In the American television show House of Cards, he played the role of President Russia. He was awarded an International Emmy Award in 2018 for his part in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje, which was broadcast in the UK in 2019 under the name Ride Upon the Storm. Mikkelsen is fluent in English, Swedish and German. He also speaks several accents. He claims that both he and his brother learned English through listening to Monty Python records and learning the comedy sketches
